Dear Experts:

We are having zimbra mail server zcs-Network edition version 8. whenever we take snapshot from vmware and move to that snapshot version or revert back to the orginal version immediatley messages floods to he black berry device, for example we move to snapshot of one week back then all the messages of last week which is in server of individual accounts starts getting downloaded once again.

Is it possible to avoid second time download of the same messges to the blackberry device in case of going forward or reveritng to the snapshots and also now that we would like to move to new hardware i,e as it is better hardware and would like to change the OS hence taken zcs backp using zmbackup which is zimbra backup commands but iam afraid after restore in the new server what if once again messages getting downloaded to blackberry devices.

can anybody please tell me is there a way which can help me to fix this. I assume if we deploy back berry server in our network this might address this but we cannot afford for this at this point int ime.

please help with the best practice. Thanks in advance.

How are you tying the Blackberry to the mail server? What are the Blackberry devices (older models, or the z10)?

There is probably not a way to prevent this. I believe your issue is similar to this one that explains why this is happening. The email UID may be changing when you restore the email message. I am not familiar with Zimba. Do  you roll back to a snap shot frequently? I cannot say I have heard of reverting mail servers back to snaps unless some major incident occurs.
