Hello,

I have 3 Dell Swicthes and would like to know the equivalent models  from HP and Cisco, to check prices from different brands before buy. Does somebody could help me on this comparative?

They are:

Dell Powerconnect - 6224
Dell PowerConnect - 5524p
Dell PowerConnect - 5548

Thanks

The comparative is really feature-based. To compare HP, Dell, and Cisco overall is almost like comparing apples to oranges. Cisco is the most feature rich so they will win out every time, but if you only need a short list of features which all overlap the brands then you can begin comparing appropriately.

So what do you all need/want? Common things to consider are management, routing protocols, L2 protocols such as spanning tree, port speed (including 10G), switching capacity (does the switch need to be able to handle all ports going full speed, or can there be oversubscription), do they need to stack, are there PoE needs and how much, and I'm sure there are many more features you may want. It would also be helpful to know if the switches need to integrate with existing equipment or if you are doing a complete rip and replace. Budget will likely come in the play as well.
