Hello mlmcc,
The report is been launched by a third party application. Is it something the app has to handle and looked into? What could be the reason for this?

Probably.

I built an app that used the calendar.  It ran fine until a user upgraded to Office 2010.  The calendar control is no longer provided with Office 2010.  Not sure this is the issue since that was a VB6 app.

Can you tell are they using the Crystal prompt screen or did the app provide one?

thank you, mlmcc I got the support from the third party folks.
They wanted me to extract some crystal files to
C:\program files\business objects\common\3.5\crystalreportsviewers115\prompting

and that helped with the calendar prompting
