To create a password it does require a more deliberate approach. &nbsp;Is it a corporate device or your own personal device? Did you connect it to any password protected apps like facebook? Sometimes facebook will set the device password to match that one. &nbsp;Let me know ASAP if it's a corporate or not.

Not corporate, no connection to facebook or similar apps. Based on your comment above my doubt about having created the password is stronger. When I had email password problems (originated with a &nbsp;Verizon account) I typed three or four recent passwords into the &quot;enter password&quot; and then it locked. I have a few more tries remaining before all the data is lost.
