Assuming you have mailbox quotas set, Exchange should send a warning at 80%, and another at 100%. These are sent sometime early in the morning.

Thanks for the response.
I need like notification email from the exchange server to mailbox users ( outlook) if the user reached to warning to 80%.

In my current, they rececving the notification email after they are prohibited to send/recieve the mail

Your mailbox is full.
506MB      495MB
Current size      Maximum size
Your mailbox can no longer send or receive messages. Please reduce your mailbox size. Delete any items you don't need from your mailbox and empty your Deleted Items folder.

Its simply setting Quota at per mailbox if you want different limits, in case you want similar limts for all users on a Database then surely the best way would be to set on the Mailbox Database itself

This is cause they you havent set Warning or all 3 limits on that User or the MailboxDatabase itself so please check that

Here is my findings and proposed solution

In Exchange environments previous to Exchange 2010 SP1, Exchange sends a quota message to mailbox owners when a:

1.      Mailbox exceeds its IssueWarningQuota limit (the lowest storage quota);
2.      Mailbox exceeds its ProhibitSendQuota limit (the middle storage quota);
3.      Mailbox exceeds its ProhibitSendReceiveQuota limit (the highest storage quota).

Get-MailboxDatabase | Set-MailboxDatabase -QuotaNotificationSchedule “Mon.04:00-Mon.06:00, Tue.04:00-Tue.06:00, Wed.04:00-Wed.06:00, Thu.04:00-Thu.06:00, Fri.04:00-Fri.06:00, Sat.04:00-Sat.06:00, Sun.04:00-Sun.06:00¿

During this period, Exchange goes through every mailbox in the database(s) and if any has exceeded the quota threshold, it sends the owner an e-mail.

But with exchange 2010 SP2, This is a design update that Microsoft made in Exchange 2010 Service Pack 1. Prior to Service Pack 1, quota warning messages were generated automatically whenever the mail users hit the quota warning threshold. After Service Pack 1 that won't be generated unless you:

However it can be resolved by this registry tweaks

http://www.bostonit.com/KnowledgeBase-Links-Articles/Mailbox-Quota-Warning-Does-Not-Work-Exchange-2010-SP1-SP2-Users-do-not-receive-generate.html

Run Regedit, and go to the following:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CCS\Services\MsExchangeIS\ParametersSystem

Create a New DWORD Value.

Type CheckWarningQuota , and then press Enter.

Right-click CheckWarningQuota, and then click Modify.

In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.

Exit the Registry and restart the Information Store.

Quota notification emails will start working, and people will start getting them once a day if they have exceeded the quota value.
