best way to send email remainder until excel wbk has been submitted

Hi experts

As per subject box. ..I am after a workable solution using excel 2007, to track when data has been received from certain departments and to email those who have not submitted and send automatical email 7 days before the data is due to every department as a heads up...

It is not hard to send email from excel but to have it automated system you are talking about would need the excel to be placed into task scheduler and on open to check for missing data and send the required emails.

To code this we would need a lot more information eg how do determine data is missing, data locatiosn, key dates etc and it would be best if you broke the question down into parts.
