Adobe Acrobat X error

Windows 7 64bit
Adobe Acrobat X Professional

Recently when trying to "convert to pdf" from the Windows right click menu, Adobe Acrobat is throwing the error:
"Missing PDFMaker files. Do you want to run the installer in repair mode?"

If I select to run the installer in repair mode Adobe will go through the repair process but then does not fix the error.

I would like to see if anyone has a fix for this before I am forced to uninstall/re install the application.

Unfortunately uninstall/reinstall is your best option at this stage. I have had this exact error before and nothing, but starting from scratch, worked. I have done my own research at the time (a few weeks ago) and none of the suggestions, way beyond a simple repair, worked.

I would suggest, however, you use the following:

http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html

That way all the files, registry entries etc. are cleaned up, too.

I think the problem is caused by a failed update or a corrupted update install. If you have Adobe Reader alongside, I would also strongly recommend not using both.

Have you had any chance to try this?
