WPF vs Winforms syntax

Now that we have WPF, Does it mean all the C# and VB winforms syntax that we learnt have gone to waste. Or is the syntax still the same in WPF, except XAML?

I am referring to the basic C# syntax for collections, string manipulation, File handling, loops etc

Please advise.

Thanks

Yes, for your "code-behind" you can use either C# or VB. XAML is only for the presentation layer of your app.
