MSI repackager
I'm not sure if I am wording this correctly but we are looking for something that can take an EXE and package it as an MSI so that we can use GPO's to push out new software and software updates/upgrades.
I am not looking for a Google search, but rather someone who has had hands on experience with them and pros/cons.

One is what's used by Advanced Installer. It wraps setup.exe into an MSI, so MSI only unwraps the exe and launches it. All advantages of MSI installation are lost. This approach is also used by some commercial products, for example Google Chrome, likely after having accepted a "solution" based on this method.
Another is true repackaging, when the installation is converted into true MSI that follows installation guidelines. This requires repackaging application (Wise Package Studio, Installshield Admin Studio), usually costing thousands of dollars, plus nontrivial expertise with MSI.
