Notepad++; Delete records from x to y

Anyone know how I would delete a block of records from rec #x to rec #y?

You can select the records by clicking the line number on the left hand side and dragging down.

Then you right click and select delete.

Sorry.  I know that.  I was not clear enough on my question.   The number of records is in the 10's of thousands, so that method is not realistic.  

I did manage to easily block comment them out.  Maybe there is a simple way to delete all block commented lines?

If you use the same method above

Click the first record to highlight it (let's say record 1)
Then hold shift down and select the last record (let's say 20000)

Notepad++ selects all records in-between

The right click and click delete
