Mac OS X 10.8 Laptop cannot login locally disconnected from AD 2008

I have a user with a Macbook Pro running 10.8. It logs in just fine when it is connected to our network via either wireless or physical. When the user, takes the laptop offsite remotely, it will not allow him to login via a cached username and password on the laptop. 10.7 did not have these issues. Is there something new with the 10.8 that has to be configured for the user to be able to login into with the cached username and password for the AD network so they can then VPN into our system and work interactively. I have been looking all over the Internet and have found some articles but with no particular information. Next stop Apple support if need be.

Thank you

l33tf0b,

Thank you for the help. I was waiting on my user to get back from Europe. We just tried it and it is good to go.

      Appreciate your support.
