Dear all,

I would like to install Java 6 Update 45 via group policy since our users have previous versions. I am trying to extract the msi from the exe. But when I am installing the exe under Application Data a Sun folder is created but the msi that is created is AU.msi and a zip file.

Is there another way to have the msi for java 6 update 45 and if this is done via group policy does it remove previous versions and use the latest one as default? Also do users need to eb local admin in order to install via GPO?

Regards,

You must run and keep the .exe installation window open to get to the MSI files as it deletes the files when the install program is closed.

c:\users\username\appdata\locallow\sun\java\jre1.6.0_45
Data1.cab
jre1.6.0_45.msi

Thanks it worked. Basically before finishing the installation you have to copy the msi :) from the mentioned path.
