Can you confirm that you have 'results to file' set for your query in SQL Server Management Studio?

Yes I have done that.  I have also tried different delimitation options but nothing wants to work.  This morning it refused to even show results to grid.  I suspect that I need to reload the program.

I have another computer running a 2008 module and it is currently executing the results to file query without hassles (just slow).

It does sound like abnormal behaviour for management studio. Are you able to execute the query normally and confirm that a result set is being returned?
