Windows 7 Favorites Folder Redirection

I have setup a folder redirection group policy for windows 7.  The Documents folder is set to redirect to the users homefolder.  The music, videos, and picture folders are set to follow the documents folder.  Everything here is working.  When I set the favorites folder to redirect to %homeshare%\favorites I get the following error: "Can not redirect parent into descendant" "The specified path is invalid."  If I set favorites to redirect to %homeshare% it works, but dumps the favorites into the root of the homefolder and not a favorites folder.  I would like the favorites to redirect to a favorites folder like music, pictures, and videos do.  Most of my users are coming form XP so there is not a favorites folder in most users homefolder.  I have tried it with an existing favorites folder and without a existing folder.  I get the same error.

Try doing this:

Rename the local copy of the profile, DON'T delete it. See if this solves the problem as the system will create a new local profile and move that to the server. If this works simply copy the favorites from the renamed folder to the new one in the server.

Has this profile been renamed before? I know this issue can come up if profiles have been renamed but still retain the old folder name.

Have you attempted to create the favorites folder manually and manually redirecting it by logging on as the user on the computer and selecting properties on the Favorites folder and moving it that way?

I renamed the local profile and had it rebuilt on login.  The folder redirection worked.  The account had never been renamed, but it did exist on the pc before folder redirection was turned on.
