I'm currently in the market for web filtering product and load balancing products.

Currently testing Barracuda's Web Filter and Load Balancer through VMware. So far I am satisifed.

Would you recommend any products for both needs?

I would like the appliance to go inline of our Juniper SRX 650 firewall.

I have been happy with SonicWALL NSA firewall appliances for web filtering, high availability and load balancing.

Given that you have Juniper already, you should be able to use a second Juniper unit to work in parallel (not series) with your existing unit.

Filtering can be inline (or in series) with your fire wall.  However, load balancing is a different issue.

The phrase Load balancing typically takes two ISP connections and balances or apportions data flow between the two ISP connections.  Are you referring to something else?

If not, then you may either load balance on a single firewall that supports load balancing between multiple ports designated for such OR you may have multiple compatible firewalls that provide both load balancing and "high availability" (HA) between them.  The added advantage of HA is that you can lose either a firewall or an ISP without complete failure.

Has anyone heard anything good about Barracuda or Untangle?

One of my clients has a Barracuda mail filter appliance with stellar results. Very close to zero false positives, good management and great filtering options and results.

It DOES sit in series between the firewall and Exchange mail server. However, it does NOT and cannot provide load balancing.

I have not seen Untangle in action.
