EMC VMWare Host datastore association

I have a virtualization host that is not associated with a data store in my EMC Unisphere.  It works and I have no known issues.  Is this condition OK?  Or do I need to associate with the data store?  See picture.  What kind of problems could this configuration cause?

Thank you.

It could prevent you from doing any Unisphere related tasks.

How did it come disassocated?

Thanks for answer.  Can't answer your question.  I did not set it up or know if it ever was associated.  Can't I just associated it or could this cause loss of date or other issues?

I ran a UNIShpere update from 2.1 to 2.4.  When I did that it showed the assocation.  Most likely a issue with the version I was using.
