Hi Experts,

I REALLY want to use jquery-mobile to develop a mobile app.  But I don't know how we're going to implement a much-needed native push notification feature if we use HTML5.  How is this done if we go the HTML5 route??

Thanks!
Mike

jquery would have nothing to do with push.   You will need a 3rd party service. There are plenty and this is one http://pusher.com/tutorials/html5_realtime_push_notifications and amazon http://aws.amazon.com/sns/

Your other option is to do a webview where everything except the notifications are in your html pages and the push is the only thing native.  I think for quickness, the third party is the way to go.
