Mapping drives based on group membership

Hi All,

I have a question regarding my VB script. I have the following drive mapping for my logon script:

If IsMemberOfGroup(objUser, "UK_Site_Users") = True Then
      objNetwork.MapNetworkDrive "G:", "\\servers\groups", true
End If

The drive mapping isn't working because of the group im using. I have recently set up the group "uk_site_users" to which I added 2 further groups "Uk_site1" and "Uk_site2" both which contain users.

If I map the drive using either "Uk_site1" and "Uk_site2" in the script - it works fine. Soon as I try and use the Uk_Site_users group it doesnt work.

Is there an issue with using this group because its direct members are groups and not users?

Why not just use the group policy setting to add a mapped drive, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc770902.aspx and filter based on group membership. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc786636(v=ws.10).aspx

I would ask why, but not necessary.  I don't know if VBS can enumerate inherited group membership.
