Get the command you need to type to do any task and then put it into crontab.
All cronatb does is automate command that you can type.

There are a couple of ways of entering the command.  One is to edit the crontab fie and another is to place commands into batch files (scripts) and put them in /etc/crontab
Check the docs for your version of linux / unix to find out how to do this.
