windows 8 lost admin password - reinstall windows 8

Friend cannot remember password for HP 2000 Laptop with windows 8. Message from Win8 says 'Your PC is offline. Please sign in with last password used on this PC'  - Web search says must reinstall Win8 - How do I do this with no source disc (Win8 preinstalled) - recovery partition?

Yes you would need to run through the recovery partition.  If you restart the machine and press F11 whilst its booting then you should get the screen you need.

Note that restoring it will put it back to factory settings and all files and folders will be lost.
