Hello.

I have a user mailbox in exchange 2003 that is corrupt. I can't use exmerge on it to remove the emails as exmerge just hangs. I tried deleting the mailbox and purging it through exchange system manager but it just sits there.

how can I delete this troublesome mailbox?

thanks

This could indicate a problem with your mailbox database, I would run isinteg ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/182081 ) on the relevant mailbox database to check its integrity and if any issues are found you can use the tool to repair it.

PLEASE ensure you have a full verified backup before using these tools.

I doubt it would move as well

So my good Option if Ent version is create new DB move all other mailboxes and then simply delete this Mailbox Database files itself.

Or you can even try to disconnect the mailbox and set the Purge Mailbox limit on the Database to 0 days and wait for Online maintenance to delete the Mailbox.

Apologies.

I added the account to my own Outlook then went through and deleted every email. Once the mailbox showed no items and no disk space usage I was able to delete it.
