Hi,
My Cad designer here says there is a "addins" called Wood Framing for Autocad.

How and where can we find addins in autocad?? I tried the download section at www.autodesk.com and couldn,t find anything.

For a software like firefox it's easy, you click "Tools / Addins / download addins" and you are brought to the addins search page, you search and install et voilà!
But how the heck is it working in Autocad?

tx!

It all depends on what you mean by "Add-on". With the older versions of AutoCAD (pre 2012) an add-on could either be a AutoLisp function or a Visual Basic Macro which were not supported bu Autodesk but by the developer. Which means finding those older Lisp functions harder to find as time progresses.

However, starting with version 2012, Autodesk has created an exchange app store for easier distribution of add-ons for their software, some of these applications were produced by Autodesk and other by third party venders. Link to the exchange app store:
http://apps.exchange.autodesk.com/en

Doing a quick Google search yielded this:
http://blog.jtbworld.com/2009/10/revit-wood-wall-framing-tool.html

which is intended for Revit, which may or may not be the version of AutoCAD you are trying to find this add-on for.

additional information about the add-on and your AutoCAD version would be helpful in finding the software
