Same iCloud account for FindMyPhone on multiple devices?

Is the same iCloud account required for FindMyPhone on multiple idevices? Family iPhone 4 and 4s on same wifi network and different iCloud accounts can't find each other.

If so, what about this? From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5621?viewlocale=en_US

Apple IDs that use iCloud email addresses (addresses ending in @iCloud.com, @me.com, or @mac.com) cannot be changed to another email address.

How do I change iCloud email address to same?

The iCloud account (which is the same for the app store) will link to the device you choose to use with that account.  In other words, whatever iCloud account you use for the Find My iPhone app is the one tide to that device.  My apple ID (same as iCloud) has both my iPhone and iPad.  I have a different Apple ID for my other iPhone.

Does that makes sense?

Seems the same Apple ID on both phones is necessary for FindMyPhone - anyway this method works.
