I want to go into Twitter page of someone that shares my interests and follow every one of their followers.  Send out a few tweets, wait a day to three, then remove those I was following that did not follow me back.  It this something that I can find.  Is is Ok to do this.  Seems like a way to associate with like minded people.  Thanks

Yeah, that's fine.  People who don't want to follow your tweets wont while those that do like what you have to say may start following.

Is there some software out there that automates this effort?

There's Tweetadder and Tweetdeck:

http://www.tweetdeck.com

I would experiment with each one to find what suits your needs.  How large of a scale are you planning on going (ie, how many followers are you looking to obtain)?

I want to create some buzz on our IndieGoGo crowd funding project GarbleCard.  I want to find Tweeters talking about RFID skimming and credit card fraud, follow them and see if they will follow GarbleCard.  If they do great, if not, I would unfollow them.  I do it manually now and it is a pain.  Also want to engage the security bloggers and see if they might find our interesting patented product interesting.  Thanks

Do you know which is better.  Tweetdeck or tweetadder?

Tweetadder appears to be more of a commercial software for people like you.  You can see a demo of the software on this video:

It has a 7-day money back guarantee, so I don't think you can go wrong.
