Flash content won't display in IE 9 and 10

This is a strange one on particular web sites flash won't display in IE 9 and 10 however it will display on IE 8, Chrome, Firefox etc. On IE 9 if I run the site in compatibility mode, the content will display. I have tried running the site in IE 9 using software rendering instead of GPU  rendering, toggled off Active X control within the browser. Checked that the add-ons are enabled.

Does anyone know why IE 9 won't display flash content *.swf and *.flv files. Is this a security feature?

Thanks that is very interesting. Is there any way around this? So we don't have to ask end users to add the site to their trusted list.

Maybe, but one step at a time. You need to ensure that my suggestion works on one of your machines, before worrying about how to implement it.
