can not uninstall Enterasys NAC Assessment Agent within Windows XP
Posted on 2013-06-14
Hello and Good Afternoon Everyone,
I am needing to help a friend uninstall a program, Enterasys NAC Assessment Agent from his Compaq Presario V5000 laptop running Windows XP. When I attempt to uninstall it from the Add/Remove Programs option within Control Panel, I get the following error message: A window with the title of Windows Installer gives a message indicating that the feature I am trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternative path to a folder containing the installation package 'NacAgentInstall_220.127.116.11msi' in the box below. Use Source: c: \Documents and Settings\Daniel\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content IE5\WDZ223V5\
Also, a popup at the bottom of the screen with the title of Enterasys NAC Assessment Agent Message: Within the body of this window appears a message indicating the agent has not connected to the server for 30 days. If the agent is no longer required for network connectivity then it can be uninstalled. When exiting from Add/Remove Programs, I get another error message indicating the installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can have access to it.
I am sorry for the lengthy nature of the description given to this issue at hand. However, I felt it necessary to provide as much detail about the error messages surrounding the difficulty of uninstalling Enterasys NAC Assessment Agent as possible. If any other information is needed, please feel free to let me know; I will provide it upon request.
Thanks so much in advance for any guidance given to resolving this technical matter within Windows XP.
