Hello and Good Afternoon Everyone,

I am needing to help a friend uninstall a program, Enterasys NAC Assessment Agent from his Compaq Presario V5000 laptop running Windows XP.  When I attempt to uninstall it from the Add/Remove Programs option within Control Panel, I get the following error message: A window with the title of Windows Installer gives a message indicating that the feature I am trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.  Click OK to try again, or enter an alternative path to a folder containing the installation package 'NacAgentInstall_161.45.254.108[1]msi' in the box below.  Use Source: c: \Documents and Settings\Daniel\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content IE5\WDZ223V5\
Also, a popup at the bottom of the screen with the title of Enterasys NAC Assessment Agent Message: Within the body of this window appears a message indicating the agent has not connected to the server for 30 days.  If the agent is no longer required for network connectivity then it can be uninstalled.   When exiting from Add/Remove Programs, I get another error message indicating  the installation source for this product is not available.  Verify that the source exists and that you can have access to it.

I am sorry for the lengthy nature of the description given to this issue at hand.  However, I felt it necessary to provide as much detail about the error messages surrounding the difficulty of uninstalling Enterasys NAC Assessment Agent as possible.  If any other information is needed, please feel free to let me know; I will provide it upon request.

Thanks so much in advance for any guidance given to resolving this technical matter within Windows XP.

Try Revo Uninstaller:

http://www.revouninstaller.com/

I have used it in the past and worked for me.

Hi

Thank you so much for the recommendation.  I have seen this problem before in other situations.  Just out of curiousity, what causes a program to have difficulty being uninstalled?  Is it caused by the program not properly uninstalling initially; leaving fragments of itself within the registry file?

Hello

Thank you for your suggestion and download link for Revo Uninstaller.  Unfortunately, this program did not work out for my needs.  I received the same error message when attempting to uninstall Enterasys NAC Assessment Agent using this program as compared to the one sited using the integrated Add/Remove Programs within Control Panel of Windows XP.

On the bright side of this situation, I was able to successfully uninstall  Enterasys NAC Assessment Agent using a program recommended from a past closed post.  The program which led to success in this situation was Windows Installer CleanUp Utility 7.2.  After using this program, I no longer saw an entry for Enterasys NAC Assessment Agent within the Add/Remove list of Control Panel.

As a gesture of fair sportmanship, I went ahead and awarded you the points for responding to this question.  I always appreciate and find myself receptive to all feedback given to my post.

              Thanks again.
