How to make this voting system

Hi!

I am making a vote system, and need some help.

I want 5 buttons, that change color when user select that button.

When user select a button, the value of that button must be stored in a variabel

How can i make this, like the picture show in HTML5
(nice effects is olso nice)

What do you know about HTML? You can make this using a table, a CSS style "float:left;", or absolute positioning. Using JavaScript, you then put an EventListener on the elements which will update the value based on which element you clicked.

Without a link to a page or at least the code you are already using, this is just going to go in circles with guesses and conflicting advice. If you don't have anything done yet, I would suggest to do a google search and find some code that is close to what you want and then if you need help adapting it, we are here.
