Citrix Universal Printer to PDF Writer as default printer

Several external agencies use a specialized application through our Citrix environment.

For all of our external users, we have Citrix Universal Printer enabled - which essentially redirects print jobs to the user's default printer.

In an effort to go paperless, one of these external agencies has configured a PDF Writer as "Default Printer" for all their employees.

Each of these users selects the Citrix Universal Printer once they are logged into our environment, but when they go to print, nothing happens - the printer window never pops up, as if they print job is never sent to their computer.

Will the Citrix Universal Printer print to a PDF Writer as the "Default Printer"?  Is there a different output we can configure to make it work?

I did some more digging and found that this particular issue is due to changes made in the Citrix ICA Client  after version 10 where that the new print method directly injects the Enhanced MetaFile (EMF) into the print spooler on the client system.  The PDF Create print driver does not support the direct injection of the EMF record, so the PDF Create print job is never started. ( http://nuance.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6244/~/unable-to-print-to-pdf-create-from-a-citrix-application).  The link provides a registry setting that causes the ica client to process the PDF printing process in the legacy manner.

I had the external agencies apply the registry mod, and it resolved the problem, and they could once again print to the PDF writer.
