Hi,

I have xbmc running for some weeks now. Some videos do show up, some don't, library update is running at regular intervals. Furthermore some videos play only music, no video.

Please tell me howto configure it the way it should so it shows every movie correct as well plays it corect (ios, mkv, avi etc).

Hi.  janhoedt
Is this with Linux and a rasberry pi or? with Frodo? not too clear on all the supporting platforms language.

All I can think of is the video settings the mpeg requires that you buy the plugin.
Take a look at these
Settings/Videos XBMC look in playback settings Render Method
Video plback on Frodo
Audio, video, and pictures playback and handling

Latest version, OpenElec is on automatic update and I'm sure I have the latest one.
I already bought and installed the codecs.

Do you have ffdshow?
This is the fix for windows so not sure if you use it in your OS.
can you install with your current OS?
The two codecs I always have is ffdshow and the ac3 filter
ffdshow is an advanced directshow decoder and VFW codec for playing most video formats like AVI, DivX, XviD, MKV, MP4/M4V, WMV, WEBM, MPG, MPEG2, SVCD, DVD, AVC/H264, AC3, DTS, AAC/M4A. Built in video and audio postprocessing filters like video resize, noise, sharpen, crop, logoaway, subtitles, OSD information and audio equalizer, normalizer, delay, etc.
