Hi

As above, what is the process to get the new license on the server and up and running?
New licence?
Same licence key but renews the server?

You need a new license key. As soon you have the key you can replace the one is expired and restart the services.

ok, i have been told that 10.1 licences are different...
Is it worth installing v10.1 now?   I read that this isn't terribly easy to do...

Definitely.

I would say it is pretty simple to install 10.1, much easier to install than BES 10.
They changed the licenses on 10.1.

Also if you already have CAL you can actually convert them into BES 10.1 CAL's.

got the licence key, but also have a serial number.

just replace the licence key in component services?

YES. Replace the license key, also calles CAL. If you have BES 10.1 installed then you can replace the key using BMS (Blackberry Management Services) console.

For BES 10 use BDS > Servers and components > Blackberry Solution topology > Blackberry domain > Component view > Blackberry Administration > Edit (enter the new key and delete old one)

now can manage the device ok.
what could be stopping activesync?
does it stop altogether if the device is offline for a period?
