SQL server 2008 R2 "The Remote Procedure call failed [0x800706be]"

After completed lync server 2013 installation, failed to start lync services due to sql error.


Below is the errror msg.

Well, first up would check to make sure the RPC services are up and running... ie the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Service and Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Locator services are running and set to start automatically.

Next, make sure you have SP2(or later) for SQL Server 2008R2 :  http://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=30437

Can you get into SSMS ? Can you run queries in SQL Server ?
