I just changed to a Windows 8 computer. I have a Dell 3007HC monitor that I have been using with Windows 7 with full 2560x1600 resolution. Now I can get only 1280X800 resolution. I checked with the Dell support website and they do not list a driver for windows 8 for this monitor. The driver that windows 8 downloads only provides the 1280x800 as the max resolution. Has anyone found a way to enable the full capabilites on this monitor with windows8 ?

it is an hdmi to dvi connector cable.
The Intel motherboard, DZ77BH-55K, has video connectore, hdmi and display port. The Dell monitor has a DVI connector.

Normally this won't be the monitor driver as we should not even need one. Please check that windows 8 has installed a driver for your graphics card that is different from standard vga.

I found that the on-board video doesn't have the capability to display above 1920x1200. I moved the video card from my old computer to the new one and everything works now.
Thanks for the help.
