want to change my computer name

the name that shows up attached to my mac address in network logs

Go to the windows icon (bottom right) then, right click 'my computer' then, left click 'change settings' then, left click 'change' then, change the computer name and follow the on screen prompts asking you to restart.

This will only work if you are an administrator of the machine that you are trying to change the name of.

Click the 'start' orb
Type in sysdm.cpl and hit Enter
Click the Change... button.System Properties (sysdm.cpl)After changing the computer name, OK out
You will need to reboot for the change to take effect.

both experts lead to

'computer name/domain changes'

I notice that some computers on the network have no computer name

I want to have no computer name

but I can not press 'okay button'
