Exchange2010 sp3 backup fails with event ID 9840 & 9609 & 9702 & 9617

Running Exchange 2010 SP3 RU1. Three of my database backups are failing for the Exchange VSS Writer being in a failed retryable state.
These errors started after installing SP3 with ru1.

Do you have SQL running in that machine?
If so, see if you have "SQL Server VSS Writer" running, and disable it.
Try that way.
