Which meeting Room scheduler for university do you recommend

Dear Experts,

Current annual fee for our  meeting Room scheduler is $3,400.  called MRM as you can see from the link below:
http://www.asuresoftware.com/

We requested the quotation if we hosted in house.  the cost is $7000.

Is there an alternative for this application, that is cheaper, or an open source?
Does Gmail provides this feature?
