hi guys.

do you know how to get/read blob values from one database and insert it in another database!

I have an application which had a feature not working saying that the blobs are missing.

On inspecting the relevant database table, the blob value are null which should be present in normal circumstances.

how can i read blobs from another normal database and insert it here.

I checked the normal working database and it does not show any binary value but just shows a text "BLOB".

regards

Blob values are saved outside the record. this enables the size of the Blob-fields.

are both databases connected?
if so you can use a update select query

if not
can they be connected?
if so please do so and see above

if not.
the I'm afraid you'll have to make a full backup and restore the backuped database upon the target Machine using an other name and then use a update insert query

both databases are not connected.

The database with missing blobs is a watcom backup.

what kind of insert statement i would use in the backup with missing blobs because the blobs are binary values.

Should i use the select statement on the normal working database and then insert the blob values retrieved from the select statement on the backup with missing blobs.
