this error message keeps coming up.    An unauthorized change was made to Windows. Error 0x004D401.

in pervious problems I finally disabled the control panel and did not get updates.  everything worked fine before this.

Thanks

Visit http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/ and click on Validate Windows, then restart your computer.

there was no validate windows link on this site.  Am I looking at the wrong place?

Sorry for the delay.

Went to the url and that worked, when I went to enter the code given, it said url cannot be found.  But since then we have had no problem.  I don't think that is supposed to work that way, or am I wrong.

Thanks

George

If that works out that is all I had to do.
