passing packages forms from gp versions

please note that what we are testing is: for FORMS (in gp9 exports forms and in gp10 import forms), for REPORTS (open gp10, goto report writer, locate gp9 report.dic and import reports forms).

If we are missing some thing or any observations, please advice.

So which worked for you best: exporting/importing forms via Customization Management or Reportes Writer Import button (we know that VBA forms do not import via this option)

I have only used the Customization Maintenance window.  Honestly, I didn't even know that packages could be imported directly into Report Writer.

Importing with the Customization Maintenance window will work fine and should be the only window you need to work with for packages.

We did find that and some VBA imported has some issues (we working on that).

We would like to know if there is any documentation, link or any official Microsoft Dynamics GP docs that provide proper steps to migrate the forms (windows & reports).

Hi,

The Dynamics GP Upgrade Guide (attached) has some instructions for migrating modified forms and reports, but it discusses using the "Update modified forms and reports" option within GP Utilities.

The one time I used that technique it didn't work and the update failed, so I used packages instead, which have always worked fine.
