We have Security groups like General Ledger, Payroll Clerk, HR Generalist, etc.  How do I give access to Purchasing inquiry to one employee General Ledger group without giving this purchasing inquiry access to the other employees in the General Ledger group?

Hi,

Based on what you have described, it sounds like you could just setup a new Security Role with Purchasing Inquiry tasks, and then assign that role to the specific user that needs access.

You could start by looking at the INQ_PURCH_00x security tasks to see if one of those has the Window(s) you want to allow.

The pre-defined GP Security tasks are sometimes inconsistent, may not have the particular windows you want, or may have more windows than what you want to allow.  If that is the case, you can always create a new more granualar security task that only has the windows you want.

Tools -> Setup -> System -> Security Tasks
Tools -> Setup -> System -> Security Roles
Tools -> Setup -> System -> User Security

I have attached some screen shots.

Let me know if that makes sense, or if you have any additional questions.

Thanks,
