Barcodes and BB10 apps

For our inventory sign-out I'd love to see barcodes on items that our consultants scan to sign out.  Everyone has a Blackberry Z10 now so would it be difficult to implement such a system?  We have our inventory on SharePoint and would I would love to set up a scan system to sign out stuff.

How easy and feasible is this idea?  Has anyone done something similar?

HSI_guelph,

Maybe something like this:
http://www.qr-code-asset-tag.com

I'm not familiar with the BB10, but pretty much every smart phone has some kind of bar code / QR code scanning app, so you can use this. Basically you just get their custom QR codes, and assign them to assets. When you have done this, and the QR code is scanned, it takes you to their website to indicate what the status of the asset is.

Cheers,
