can i make submenu vertical and then horizontal?

I was wondering could i make the drop down menu vertical then horizontal instead of vertical the whole way?

or you need to look at the CSS definition of the class "sub-menu" and make it the same as the class as "nav-menu" but change the colours (if you want)

i can t seem to find the class "<ul id="sub-menu"> ? should i create one?

the class will be called sub-menu and nav-menu and will probably be defined in style.css
I notice you are using wordpress
there may be a setting in the menu settings to change it.
or log on to the admin and go to appearance - editor - style.css for that template

not sure I mean you to add anything - just find all the definitions of the sub-menu class and change it to the same as the main nav-menu. class.
also check in the menu settings under appearance see if there are options to change the format of the sub-menu some templates have options for menus. (admin - appearance -menus)

well this isnt my full time job, thats about as far as my technical experience goes

it might be worth looking in all files for the sub-menu definition it may be a plugin or an extension to the template.

use the menu class in the main menu in the sub menu... i.e.
in the sub/drop down menus
I think if you change the class "<ul id="sub-menu">
to "<ul id="nav-menu">
so the dropdown list will be horizontal the same the main menu
