We currently have a 2003 R2 server that is managing our TS cals that are used in our citrix presentation server 4.5 environment. We are working on building a new xenapp 6.5 server farm using 2008 R2 however 2008 R2 TS cals cannot be managed by a 2k3 server. <br />

Looking at the documentation from MS from the following article <br />

It looks like we need to have the original paper agreement which is long gone and pre-dates all of us who are still here. <br />
<br />
Is there anyway using the existing license server to find the agreement number, cal pack id, or any other information that may help us get these transferred. <br />

Is there another method of moving these TS cals besides the one that MS outlines in the article above. Any help is appreciated.

Migrating TS cals from 2k3 server to 2k8

Windows Server 2003 was based on Windows XP and was released in four editions: Web, Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter. It also had derivative versions for clusters, storage and Microsoft’s Small Business Server. Important upgrades included integrating Internet Information Services (IIS), improvements to Active Directory (AD) and Group Policy (GP), and the migration to Automated System Recovery (ASR).

Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2, based on the Microsoft Vista codebase, is the last 32-bit server operating system released by Microsoft. It has a number of versions, including including Foundation, Standard, Enterprise, Datacenter, Web, HPC Server, Itanium and Storage; new features included server core installation and Hyper-V.

Windows Server 2008

Citrix is the synonym for the virtualization and application infrastructure systems developed by the company of the same name. Main areas are application virtualization, Software-As-A-Service (SaaS), cloud-computing and networking. The two most well-known are Citrix XenApp or Citrix CloudPlatform.
