cant browse network share but viceversa works

Hello Experts

On a server 2008 r2, only with the hyperv role, i cant browse shares on the network.
i get this error code: 0x80070035, network path not found when trying to connect to network share. Its the same if i try to connect with the IP address so its no DNS problem.
The Server is no member of the domain.
The following works:
I can both ping by name and IP address.
I can browse from the network on the local share.

What else can i try to get it work

regards

Try to disable the firewall and check if works make a rule in the firewall and continue if this doesn't solve this issue get both machine on same network as it might be also an issue.

So you are saying that you cannot browse to \\computer1\share from server1 but you can browse from computer1 to \\server1\share ?  Then it is a permissions issue on computer1 where the logged on user doesn't have permission to browse the share. That or the Workstation service is not running on the machine that you want to connect from or the server service is not running on the destination machine.
