Sharing an email in exchange server 2007

O.K. I have limited to no experience with exchange servers. The head IT went on vacation and I'm left to sink or swim. All I want to do is share an email address with two separate users. The email in question is being used by a client already and they are going away on vacation so they want me to make another user receive emails from that particular address. Already tried adding it but I get :

"Microsoft Exchange Error
--------------------------------------------------------
The following error(s) occurred while saving changes:

set-mailbox
Failed
Error:
The proxy address "smtp:office@username.com" is already being used by "siteinfo/ Users/current user". Please choose another proxy address.
* I've changed usernames and vital info with generic info.

Is there an easy way to do this? This exchange server 2007.

Sharing the inbox itself would require access to the inbox, if you want to do that then it would allow the other users to open the inbox on their machines or via OWA.
