We have got a sharepoint 2010 server which is running multiple site collections under the same web application. For most of the sites, when the user clicks on their name, they see the My Site and My Profile links. For only one of the sites, these links are not available.

The main differences are that this site collection was created as a host-named site collection through the shell using 'New-SPSite http://siteAddressforSharePoint –OwnerAlias domain\username –HostHeaderWebApplication http://webapplication' and the other sites were created through central administration and have the url of http://server/sites/sitename with an alternative name mapping

All sites are using the same User profile service.

Is there a way to get this site to access My Site?

Shouldn't matter if they are host named sites or not.

Are you 100% positive the web app the site lives in is subscribed to the UPA?
