Xenserver upgrade

Hello,

We are looking to upgrade our current xenserver environment which is running version 5.5 update2 to version 6.1.   I know we need to upgrade our 5.5 to 5.6 before going to 6.1.  My hardware is on the compatibility list to do this.  I just want to know what I should look out for, any potential issues that may arise doing this.  Also what do you do with the xentools?  Are the 5.5 tools ok running on 5.6 and then 6.1 until I get them updated? And what is the best way to update the tools, uninstall and reinstall, or is there an upgrade for the tools?

thanks for any help you can provide with this!

Cool.  No issues with server 2003 vs 2008, no issues at all with the tools being updated?
i have updated xentools on 2003, 2008, 2008 r2 and 2012 with no issues.
awesome.  One last question about the tools, have you gone straight from 5.5 tools to 6.1 tools?   And do you know if the servers will run with the 5.5 tools on 6.1 without any issues until I get them all upgraded?  Biggest concern with that is just live migrate feature.
No i have no experience with 5.5 to 6.1
Make sure to disable HA when you are upgrading to avoid host isolation issues. Once you have upgraded to v5.6 FP1, you can use the Rolling Pool upgrade feature to upgrade the hosts.
