Interfacing with TN3270 program with VB6 or VB.NET program

We have an old VB4 program that uses the Extra (Quickapps) OCX to allow interfacing into each screen of the mainframe program. It essentially 'screen scrapes' the data from the screen and interacts with the VB program. I need to re-write the existing VB4 program with VB6 or .NET and looking for a control OCX compatible with VB and TN3270 mainframe program.

My other options are to use DDE and WinHLLAPI as recommended by our TN 3270 software provider. Can someone let me know if a control exists and if not where to start using DDE and WinHLLAPI?

I also looked at the Jolly Giant QWS3270 software but not sure if it has the features I need or adds anything extra than using DDE and WinHLLAPI.

There are several 3270 emulation objects/controls you should evaluate if you aren't happy with what you've encountered in your search.  I wouldn't go with DDE and would think you would have less coding changes if you avoid an API, such as WinHLLAPI, than with an ActiveX object.

All of the 3270 emulation software I've looked at are mostly just emulations with the same DDE/WinHLLAP compatible features. I have not yet found an ActiveX object. If you know of any please let me know, thanks!
