We have an SMS service in India and it is growing faster among students. We want to monetize this Cloud computing service by charging 5 Rupees per SMS. Any one have an idea who are the service providers in India. My Google search does not give me to the results I want.

Ideally I need a 5 digit Premium number like 54433 or 56677 etc (need not be a fancy number). and when the users send SMS, It will responded by our System and the user will be charged 5 or 6 rupees per SMS. The company that provides this system will share the revenue.

Can you help me identify the right service provider in India or an international service provider that operates in India?

I don't know if you already found this, but here's a good list of SMS providers:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_SMS_gateways

I was looking into a business opportunity about a year ago that required SMS on a global basis and found two possibilities. One is Amazon Simple Notification Service (Amazon SNS):
http://aws.amazon.com/sns/

However, its subscription methodology wasn't suited to what I wanted at the time.

The other is Twilio:

Go to Twilio's pricing page and enter India in the search box:
http://www.twilio.com/sms/pricing

They offer short codes, but I don't know if they're available in India (you may be able to figure it out from the website or simply contact them):

I wound up never deploying either solution, so I can't give you any comments based on my experience, but I offer them up as ideas for you to investigate. Regards, Joe
