We have a number of Android Tablets (Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 4G) that we cannot get to connect to our VPN properly.

They can connect to the VPN briefly, but only remain connected for a 5-10 second period before disconnecting without any warning or error message.

Not sure whether this is something we are doing wrong in the setup on the tablets or whether it something that needs to be changed on the server.

The VPN will not connect at all with PPP encryption so we are trying to connect without it. This enables the tablets to connect but only for a short period of time.

Any help would be appreciated.

Details as follows:
Tablets: Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 4G
Android version: 4.1.1
VPN: PPTP on TMG running on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard

In the tablet's VPN config did you set the VPN to "Always On"?

On the tablets we are using there doesn't appear to be an option for "Always on" anywhere. It doesn't appear when setting up the VPN or if you edit an existing one.

Any other suggestions?

For anybody else that might come across this question, I have now fixed the issue. There was a hotfix from Microsoft for this exact problem - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2722729.

Nobody else provided the answer although I did find a fix elsewhere eventually.
