When a client's outlook goes off line, is there a way to remotely, and programmatically, switch them from "Work Offline" mode to connected? Maybe a power shell script cmdlet, or WMIC command??

Our users just can't seem be remember to simply reconnect them selves to the exchange server by unchecking the "Work Offline".

The 'work offline' setting is an Outlook Client setting. The only way this can be done is with VBscript. But I would suggest education of users is the better approach.

There are three of us that have been trying to educate the users for years on this exact thing and they just can't remember. We can't even talk them through it over the phone half the time. Today was the last straw when we had to send someone over to click the mouse twice to get the person back online.

I realize it is an Outlook Client setting but there is so much you can do with powershell now I thought there might be a cmdlet that would allow remote manipulation of that setting. If VBScript is the only way... I'll take it because it's better than spending 5 minutes on the phone trying to get someone to uncheck the "Work Offline" checkbox.

Would you happen to have an example script?
